United States v. Arizona

On 6-Jul-2010, the United States of America filed suit against the State of Arizona. The United States claims that Arizona lacks the right to enforce existing federal immigration law and further claims that a particular Arizona law “restricts the interstate movement of aliens in a manner that is prohibited by Article One, Section Eight of the Constitution”, thereby violating the commerce clause.

The case is #2:10-cv-01413 and is pending in the Federal District Court for Arizona, Phoenix Division. A docket report is available. Additional information is available via PACER.
